Please join us Saturday, September 18th 12-3:00 for an indoor tailgate party at the Holiday Inn Express in Port Allen. (2860 North Westport Drive; Port Allen, LA 70767; (225) 343-9967) We will meet and eat in the Breakfast room. The salt water indoor pool will also be available, so bring your swimsuits!
We hope it will give us a chance to meet and offer support to each other. We also have some mito awareness ideas that we plan to pursue to get ready for Mitchondrial Disease Awareness Week, which is the following week, Sept 19-25. More info on that to follow.
Please respond to this post to let us know if you'll be able to make it, who from your family will be coming, and a dish you'd like to bring to contribute to the tailgating festivities.
Hi Mandy, this sounds great!
ReplyDeleteLet me know what I can do to help,
My son Tucker is 4 years old and he loves to swim.
My blog is littlefightingtiger.blogspot.com
Check it out.
Hi Leigh! Awesome that you guys will be able to come to our little gathering! I checked out your blog....Tucker is ADORABLE and looks like quite the go-getter! Let us know what you can bring to our little tailgate party. :) Can't wait to meet you! Mandy
ReplyDeleteOur family is so excited to meet other mito families in the area. My husband and I will be bringing our three girls, Audrey, Elise and Lydia (tube-fed). We will contribute some hamburgers and all the fixin's for the tailgate party. Hope to see you there.
ReplyDeleteMandy, I am not sure how to private message you? I am new to blogger, and I am not sure how it all works!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments about Tucker, I can bring a big potato salad, please let me know how many people are coming. I know that Tucker, my husband, and I would come, and possibly our moms. Thanks!
Thanks Leigh. I was hoping that this blog would help us keep track of the number of people coming...so we could all see who's coming and what we're bringing. I may send out another email to be sure that everyone who's coming leaves a comment. We hope to have a good turnout. :)
ReplyDeleteWe will bring the dips and chips!! And maybe I can bring drinks and get some ice. Perhaps someone else can bring the paper goods and dessert! :-)
ReplyDeleteFor those interested, our blog is: www.baby-braden.blogspot.com
I can bring paper goods and dessert....If someone else would prefer I can bring a more complicated item and leave this to someone with little ones. In other words....I will plan on these items unless you tell me you need something else.
ReplyDeleteLaura Gaupp - It will probably be just me attending.
Hi Mandy, Thanks for getting this together and inviting us. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend this time. Have a wonderful indoor tailgate! Jennifer Grigsby-Rhett's mom.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I was a little too excited, so I signed up to come before I checked my calendar.
ReplyDeleteI have a previous engagement:( So we will not be able to attend the party, please let me know of any other activities, our family would like to be involved in Mito Awareness activities also.
Kodi and Mandy, I read about your little ones on your blogs, and I look forward to meeting you.
Leigh

Along with Morgan will be her boyfriend Aaron and Morgan’s parents – Tim and Lisa. We will bring dessert to the party – unless there is something else you need us to bring.
Sorry for the late notice – It’s hard for us to all coordinate our calendars!
Thanks so much for coordinating this event!!!
